You Can’t Take It With You or… What Death Can Teach Us About “Stuff” While We’re Living

(2:11 min video)

Why am I even talking about this?!

I was inspired to do this little video when a friend sent me an article about a Japanese company that clears homes because fewer people have family to do it. For a few years I’ve been fascinated by a method known as The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning that’s sweeping Europe, implemented by very alive people who love the lifestyle freedom it affords them. Sound morbid? Weeeelllll… it might be, but there’s so much this can teach us about living life to the fullest NOW!

What the awareness of our mortality can teach us

  • someone will have to clear out our stuff when we’re gone
  • usually a loved one
  • perspective on the true value of things
  • reconsider what you bring in
  • perspective on “can’t take it with you”
  • but someone else will have to take care of it

Articles for your perusal… Here are 2 articles to inspire an unburdened life for you AND whoever will manage the stuff you leave behind!
